Senior Pastor , Amy Lee
We Are So Blessed To Have Pastor Amy Lee Join Our Family.
Pastor Amy’s life verse is John 11:25, “Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live, even though they die.”
She believes that every person needs to hear these words of Christ and know that he died for them. She tries to live her faith based on Jesus’ call to the disciples in Matthew 25, when doing unto the least, we are doing unto Christ, himself.
Pastor Amy has a heart and passion for being missional, seeing every opportunity as a mission field. She has traveled to Nicaragua, Mexico, and many different states in the US, serving on mission teams. She has led the Decatur Chapter of A Better Life-Brianna’s Hope, a faith-based, compassion-filled, participant-driven support and recovery group for substance abuse; and is engaged in numerous ways in the community. She also has a passion for encouraging young/new clergy. She has been mentoring a group of clergy who will be ordained during Annual Conference. She loves teaching, preaching and developing worship.
Pastor Amy comes to us after serving her appointment to First UMC, Decatur since July of 2013 prior to that appointment, serving as Senior Pastor at Fairmount UMC for seven years. She has served in urban, suburban, and rural congregations in Indiana and Texas. Having grown up United Methodist, Pastor Amy had a desire to attend United Methodist related schools, graduating from the University of Indianapolis “Go Greyhounds !!!” in 1994 with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion, and in 1998 from Perkins School of Theology Southern Methodist University, with a Master of Divinity degree.
